€5 Million Investment for Specter Automation to Enhance 3D Site Management

On March 26, 2025, Cologne-based startup Specter Automation announced the extension of its Seed funding round to over €5 million. The funds will be used to advance innovation in 3D site management, strengthen the go-to-market team, and create a dedicated success team.

Investor Support

The funding round includes investments from:

  • Shilling VC (Portugal)
  • Almaz Capital (USA)
  • PAWAO

Additionally, existing investors such as TechVision Fund, LBBW Venture Capital, and xdeck Ventures have reaffirmed their commitment.

Company Mission and Technology

Founded in 2021, Specter Automation focuses on digitizing construction site execution through 3D model-based management. Its cloud-based software enhances traditional workflows into real-time planning and coordination processes. The aim is to empower site managers and project stakeholders with seamless access to project data, enabling informed decision-making that enhances efficiency and reduces costs.

According to Specter Automation, the construction industry represents roughly 13% of global GDP and is currently facing a digital transformation where 96% of construction data remains unused, leading to inefficiencies and budget overruns.

Future Plans and Expansion

The newly acquired funding places Specter Automation in a strong position for future growth, allowing them to expand further beyond Europe, with active projects in North America, the Middle East, Asia, and recently in New Zealand.

Industry leaders like Ricardo Jacinto and Dr. Lars Gussen highlight the significance of Specter's approach in addressing major gaps in the construction sector, particularly the integration of pre-construction planning with on-site execution.

As Specter aims to leverage this investment for scaling its team and optimizing the adoption of 3D site management technologies, the firm is working towards unlocking substantial value in the sector.
